Salary payment

Salary must be paid on time each month via the Wage Protection System (WPS) where applicable. Delays attract MOHRE penalties.

Annual leave

30 calendar days paid annual leave per year under the Domestic Workers Law (Federal Law No. 10 of 2017).

Medical care

Sponsor is responsible for the worker's medical treatment costs unless covered by the mandatory insurance policy.

Return ticket

On contract completion or early termination by sponsor, a return air ticket to the worker's home country is required.

End-of-service gratuity

One month's wage for each year of service upon completion of a full two-year contract.

INSURANCE

Mandatory medical insurance

All domestic workers in the UAE require a health insurance policy compliant with the relevant emirate's health authority (DHA in Dubai, HAAD/DoH in Abu Dhabi). The sponsor is legally required to provide and maintain this coverage for the visa duration. We will arrange a compliant policy as part of your package.

Note: Insurance premiums are not included in the base visa fee. We will provide a quote based on the worker's nationality and age.

How Tadbeer regulates domestic workers

Tadbeer is the UAE's official domestic worker management system, operated under the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE). All domestic worker employment contracts in the UAE must be registered through a licensed Tadbeer centre. Direct sponsorship without Tadbeer registration is not permitted for new domestic worker visas. The system protects both sponsors and workers by standardising contract terms, salary minimums, and grievance mechanisms.

Federal Law No. 10 of 2017 (Domestic Workers Law) governs all domestic employment relationships. We will ensure full compliance throughout the process.

MOHRE does not publish a single fixed minimum for domestic workers, but most Tadbeer centres and MOHRE guidelines reference AED 1,500 to AED 2,000 per month as a baseline. The actual agreed salary must be stated in the employment contract and paid consistently via WPS.
MOHRE's general guideline for sponsoring a full-time domestic worker is a minimum household income of AED 25,000 per month. Applications below this threshold may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We will advise after reviewing your salary certificate.
Under the Domestic Workers Law, if a worker terminates the contract early without a valid reason, the cost of the return ticket may be borne by the worker. If the sponsor initiates early termination, the sponsor is responsible for the return ticket and any accrued gratuity.
Yes, domestic worker visa transfers are possible with the consent of the current sponsor and the worker. MOHRE must approve the transfer. There is no requirement to process the worker through a new entry permit if the transfer is internal.
